Begin collecting articles for your research project. This literature review should also assist in narrowing down your subject. This is because many of the areas that some students have selected are simply too broad for this course. Note that the syllabus describes this course requirement as “a specific current topic in the areas of retail management and marketing.”
The objective is for you to develop a concise research article, not to write a book that provides solutions to broad subjects in retail management. More than likely, each of you will need to keep narrowing the research topic to a manageable level. The article reviews should be applied to your Research Project in the literature review section.
It is strongly suggested to pick articles from scholarly or peer-reviewed journals. Google Scholar provides a simple way to broadly search for scholarly literature ( https://scholar.google.com/ ). The UNCP Library is an excellent source and you should use your university login to access the collections. Appropriate practitioner publications and sources may also be used. Examples include Retail Dive, Insider Retail, Forbes Retail, and Modern Retail.
Part 1: Review a research article related to the area of your research topic. This submission should be an analysis and critique of the article as to what it provides to support your topic.
